Cedar Key Weekend is officially ON!  You can come for the weekend, or for Saturday's program only.  C’mon Sunrise Rotarians, let’s make Gainesville Sunrise Rotary the most educated Rotary Club in the world on living shorelines.

A living shoreline is a protected, stabilized coastal edge made of natural materials such as plants, sand, or rock. Unlike a concrete seawall or other hard structure, which impede the growth of plants and animals, living shorelines grow over time. Dr. Savannah Barry, Florida Sea Grant Specialized Regional Extension Agent at the UF/IFAS Nature Coast Biological Station has agreed to provide this educational moment for us.

The Schedule:

May 14, Friday Evening—Social Hour provide by Cato’s/Smith/Austin.  Details to follow.

May 15, Saturday 10-12AM—Living Shorelines presentation and field-trip to Cedar Key living shorelines currently under construction.

12:30PM—Group lunch at a Cedar Key restaurant to be determined.

About 6PM—Evening social and dinner at home of Laraine and David Teiss—exact details to follow.

May 16, Sunday—Breakfast on your own and depart.
