At Saturday's Firefighter Appreciation Picnic we received a visit from Tom “Bull” Hill and about 30 hungry firefighters from across Florida who were passing through Gainesville as part of 'Bull's March,' the walk from the Keys to Tallahassee calling attention to the need for Florida to pass legislation to help firefighters who contract cancer from their exposure to toxic smoke. The legislation would also provide survivors' benefits to help their families.
Florida doesn't provide such benefits, but 39 other states do! Maybe you can help. Bull's March has set up a petition to the Florida Legislature which can be signed online at Take 30 seconds and tell Florida lawmakers to pass a presumptive cancer for firefighters law.
